Estephan Wagner has worked as documentary director for over a decade, always approaching his themes from the point of view of his protagonists.

Estephan was born and raised in Chile. In Santiago he studied Theater at the International School of Image and Gesture, and afterwards worked as both actor and director.
Later he moved to Germany, where he studied Film Editing. From there he moves to France, where he works as editor for the TV channel ARTE.
Then he moves to London and makes his Masters in documentary direction at the prestigious National Film and Television School.

The films he directed have been both successful on the international festival circuit (playing at over 150 festivals and winning 32 awards), as well as being broadcasted on TV (DR / Denmark, Channel 4 / UK, SVT / Sweden, ARTE / Germany-France, TRT / Turkey, Channel 1 / Russia, a.o.).
Also his edited work has won several international prices, including twice at the Berlinale. He has edited both independent documentaries, as well as television at several international broadcasters (ARTE, ARD, BBC, DR).
