About

I have worked as documentary director for over 2 decades, becoming deeply rooted in the genre.

I was born and raised in Chile under Pinochets dictatorship, a period that marked me profoundly. In Santiago I studied Theatre at the International School of Image and Gesture, and afterwards worked as both actor and director. Later I moved to Germany, where I studied Film Editing at the NDR. From there I moved to France, where I worked as editor for ARTE.

Then I move to London to do my Masters in Documentary Direction at the prestigious National Film and Television School.

The films I’ve directed have been both successful on the international festival circuit (playing at over 150 festivals and winning 32 awards), as well as being broadcasted on TV (DR Denmark, Channel 4 UK, SVT Sweden, ARTE Germany-France, TRT Turkey, a.o.).

In my editing work I have focused on high-end independent documentaries. These films have won numerous international awards, including twice at Berlinale, a Cinema Eye Honor, and twice at CPH:DOX. They have all screened at many international broadcasters (ARTE, ARD, BBC, DR, a.o.)

After 16 years I finally settled in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I live with my wife and two daughters.

I am fluent in 6 languages (Spanish, German, English, Danish, French and Portuguese).
